Welcome!

     Welcome Parents!  I am so happy that this year kicked off to an amazing start!  It is a sure sign of an exciting school year!  The students have adjusted wonderfully.  They come in ready to learn and best of all, with a smile on their face.  As the year goes on, I will post pictures of the many events and projects that will occur in Kindergarten. 

     I hope to see all families this Wednesday, on Back to School Night.  It begins promptly at 6:00 PM and ends at 8:00 PM.  I will go over our schedule, curriculum, routines and procedures.  I look forward to matching names with faces!  

     Today, we began our Fairy Tale theme.  This theme will go on through September.  We will read about 14 fairy tales and learn how to keep track of the different stories with a chart.  We will integrate math, writing, art, phonics, social studies and science.  Nearing the end of our unit we will have a few lessons on manners; we will practice polite introductions, please and thank yous, as well as complimenting others.  

     At the end of our theme, we will have a "Fairy Tale Ball!" Students will be encouraged to dress up as their favorite fairy tale character.  We will use our manners at the Ball when asking for snacks from the "Happily Ever After Cafe."  If you would like to donate your time and/or cooking/baking abilities to the Ball, please let me know.  I will have a sign up sheet, along with a list of recipe ideas if needed.  The Ball will take place in Schwinn Hall on Friday, September 23rd, at 1:15 PM.    

   

      A few other reminders-

          *Gym uniforms on Tuesdays and Fridays.

            snack calendar for your specified date.  Thank you in advance!

          *No School on Monday, Sept. 5th.  Happy Labor Day!
